The Sunset Clubs bulletin board....
exists to allow members to offer or request weeks for sale, purchase, exchange or rent. In order that the board runs as efficiently as possible it is necessary to follow these guidelines as closely as possible.

the 3 b's - or the basics of bulletin boards....

In general a bulletin board works like a discussion area where you can enter new messages to get a discussion going, or you can reply to other people's messages and add your opinion and/or point of view to an existing discussion. As an individual post is answered or added to, it becomes known as a thread, there being an element that connects all messages in that post. Below you can see an example of individual posts, with their replies (thread) indented below.

entering the bulletin board area....

When you click on the menu item 'Bulletin Board', a new browser window will open. This ensures that you do not lose your contact with the Sunset Clubs site. When you have finished on the Bulletin Board all you need to do to return to the site is to close the new browser window. To do this either go to the File menu and select Close, or click on the X in the top right hand corner of the browser window.

posting (entering) a new message....

In order to enter a new message, just click on the link to the Bulletin Board you want. This will take you to a new web page that looks similar to this.

Enter your name and your email address in the relevant fields (see image below). In the subject line enter the week number, the date AND the relevant club, that you wish to offer or request, and whether it is a sale, exchange etc.

Your entry should always follow the format as shown below. This will enable others to search the bulletin board effectively.

Subject:

In the message area you can specify the details of your post eg where the apartment is located, how many bedrooms etc.

post example

Tick the 'Notify me by email' box as this will ensure that as soon as someone posts a reply, you will be contacted by email. When you receive an email informing you that someone has replied to you, do not reply to the email, just click on the link in the body of the email message that will look similar to this - http://members.boardhost.com/sunsetclubsrent/msg/6.html. This will automatically take you to the reply.

If you want to see how your post will look on line, hit the 'Preview Message' box, if not just hit 'Post Message' and your message will be added to the bulletin board.

replying to a message....

There are two ways of replying to a message on a bulletin board.

First click on the message that you want to view and/or reply to. You now have two options, either:

1. Click on the name of the person who has posted the message. This will start up your own email software which will allow you to email the person directly. Whatever you send to them will not appear on the bulletin board.

Or

2. Enter your details in the form as you would for 'Posting a new message'. The only difference being that the subject field is automatically completed for you.

searching for specific messages....
If you are looking for a specific week, rather than looking through all the messages posted you can enter a search request. Simply enter the week number or the week-ending date that you require and hit the submit button. If any matches are found they will be displayed for you. Then follow the details as for replying to a post.

removing messages

To ensure that the boards stay up to date the originator of the message must email Sunset Clubs by clicking here and request that it be removed once a successful sale, exchange etc. has taken place.

Please note:
  • This email must originate from the same address as the message on the board.
  • In the subject field of your email, please enter the same details that were entered into the subject field of the bulletin board to ensure that the correct message is removed.
  • If after three months, you have not already requested removal of your message you will receive an email asking if the message is still appropriate. If you do not reply to this email your message will be removed within 7 days.
