Peter Orpin – Chairman
My wife Jean & I first purchased Timeshare at the Harbour in 1987 and I was elected to the committee in 1991, following the sad death of George Ellington, one of the original appointees to the management committee. We have always taken an active interest the resort’s progress and we were pleased to have the opportunity to make a more positive contribution.

Outside of these activities, I have had a varied background, beginning with service in the RAF, a long involvement in the engineering industry, leading to a number of directorships and more latterly, since moving to Cornwall, some “hands on” experience in the leisure industry, running small self catering holiday accommodation units. We are now retired – almost(!) and take great pleasure from our now grown up family and of course, our grandchildren.

Anyone who has met me will know how much I care for the Harbour and I look forward to working with my colleagues to maintain this pleasant oasis in such a developed corner of Tenerife.

Brian Boggis
I have been the owner of two weeks at the Harbour since it’s initial development in 1987 and was elected to the Committee at the inaugural AGM in 1988. I am married with two grown up children and live in Lancing in Sussex. I recently retired from a career spanning some 34 years in the financial services industry and now run my own marketing business.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet many members, at the AGM’s or on the resort and they will know how passionately I feel about the Harbour and I am proud of the progress that we have made in maintaining and improving the high standards attained. We have, as many of you know, been through some difficult times over recent years, but I am pleased that there are now positive signs that the relationships between the parties responsible for the resort, are improving significantly. I have every reason to be confident that this will continue and that more of our efforts can be directed to improving the resort still further.

John Davis
John is married with two children and three grandchildren and is new to the committee, following his election to his post at the AGM last year. John lives in Hertford and has been an owner at the resort since 1989 and having visited the resort virtually every year since, is well known to both the staff and many members.

Paul Openshaw
I have been appointed to the committee by the members of the Sunterra Points Club, who now own a significant number of weeks on the resort. My role is to work with the elected owner members of the committee to ensure that our members, when visiting the Harbour can enjoy their holidays to the full. At Sunset Harbour, this is clearly not an onerous task, since the resort is one of the best in our Club’s portfolio and not surprisingly, one of the most popular. My wife, Andy & I have been “points” owners and Timeshare owners for a number of years and have now retired from our business in Manchester, to live permanently in the mainland of Spain. Thankfully though, we are still able to keep in touch with the “outside world”, through frequent visits to our now grown up family in the UK and of course through the marvels of modern technology!

In addition to the Owner’s elected members and the Sunterra Points Club representative above, the committee is completed with the constitutionally required “Founder” Member appointees, representing the Management company and the Developers and these are currently Ruth Thomas, Sunterra European Customer Services Manager and Pat May, Regional Director, (Resort Services – Canaries) respectively.
